Being a five century old temple, we are always striving to restore this historical monument and Vaishnava cult in the region.

History reveals that about 500 years ago while on the way from Nadia Navadwip to Sri-Kshetra Puri, lord Sri Chaitanya stopped for a while and stayed in Mangalpur, a princely state and accepted the courtsey of the king.The lord in reciprocation to kings devotion towards him,presented his wooden sandal whic h was worshiped for years in the region. Later it was shifted to Vrindaban by an unknown saint for worship.

To keep surcharged the atmosphere with divinity for ever by following the foot prints of the great m aster Sri Chaitanya, the successors of the king built several temples where Sri chiatanya mahaprabhu templ e was most prominent of all.The successors made all provisions to meet daily expenses of the temple as well celebration of all major festivals in the form of landed properties .without any provision for the t emple maintenance .Immediately after the Abolition of Jamindari while the properties of the all kings and Jamindars curtailed , no much attention was given for the maintenance of the temple.


The chorus of pious Gita Govinda with enchanting combination of various musical instruments which were reverberating the atmosphere experiencing the cosmic consciousness with divine joy became feebl e gradually.The temple turned to be the deserted monument , the unattended idols were deprived from da y to day rituals.The sanctified souls of the pious royal family might have screamed and shaded tears t o see their beloved lord being neglected.Now, the temple is in a dilapilated condition. The massive entrance ;Nata mandir; is going to be collapsed at any moment. The interior;Garva Griha; having several weep holes allow sun and rain water in to the temple.

Due to paucity of fund , only some minor repairs have been taken up on the sacrifices of some devote es. Now we wish and aspire, if we could take up major revamp of the temple.


In this world of illusion and hallucination, every one of us at any given moment has a hundreds desi re struggling for their fulfillment. This is an going process and with this process of struggle for exi stence, we do not know when the limited span of life has come to an abrupt end. For the great master Sri Chaitanya ,an exquisite thinker, abrlliant intellect, a personality scintillating with Prem Bhakti for the alm ighty sweetly emotional in bliss,we are extremely grateful to you all who have sacrificed in the form of dona- tion for renovating the temple for which let the blessings of God shower on you.
